What Makes a Donation Drive Actually Work?
Preparation is the whole trick. The event is where preparation becomes visible.
Location and access
The right site already has the right foot traffic — and a loading door, parking, and permission in writing. Placement decides how much is possible before anyone says a word.
One clear ask
A volunteer should be able to explain what you do and what you need in one sentence, then go three layers deeper if asked. If the one-sentence version is fuzzy, nothing after it lands.
Supplies and staffing
Tables, signage, bins, change, water, and a shift schedule with names on it. Logistics is not a pre-event formality — it is the reason the event happens at all.
Load-out and follow-up
The event ends. The inventory does not. Counts, leftovers, damages, and lessons get organized so the next drive starts from a known position.
